These domains are excluded from the Aloha Search index because the site or business behind them is not based in Hawaiʻi — even if it publishes content about the islands. Being blocked here is not a judgment of quality: it just means the source isn't local.

Blocked domains can still appear when you search the wider web — use global search or the "Web" tab on any results page. They're only left out of the Hawaiʻi index itself.

Separately, a small set of large aggregator and spam domains is filtered out of web results entirely — those never made claims to being local, they just crowd out useful answers. And if you'd rather block domains for your own searches only, Premium members get a personal blacklist in their dashboard.
