Frustrated by the bureaucracy encountered with various organization's and state agencies and the real need for specialized learning programs for high school students they felt the need to establish a program that would provide basic developmental and employment skills to youth/adults who were in need of employable job skills. Ho'omana was incorporated in October 2003 and opened a thrift store to use as a "training site" for individuals with special needs to learn basic life and job skills.

Solar Kauai, established and licensed in Hawaii in 1982, has installed over 8,500 residential solar water heating and power systems including large scale commercial systems such as the Kauai Civic Center, Kapaa Fire Station, Pacific Missile Range Facility, and Bellows Air Force Base. Solar Kauai was one of the first to acquire a C-60 License allowing installation of Solar Electric (PV) systems. With this C-60 License Solar Kauai was the first to operate on all the major Hawaiian Islands including Molokai, Lanai, and Niihau. Over 40 years later Solar Kauai is still a family business. Paul Lucas and his three sons are still committed to providing quality systems and excellent service to the people of Kauai.

DC Laundry is just the new name in town but the business have been around for a long time. We are grateful to have this opportunity and blessed to have start this new adventure for our family. The most exciting part was renewing the look and giving it a vibrant brightness color of blue that reflects our Alma mater of Waimea High School. We knew we had to replace the old machines that has been sitting in this area for years, broken. The community deserves a clean, bright, operable brand new machines and we are so happy to be able provide this for the westside community.

Whether you are sampling our two-ingredient dark chocolate or attending a Build-a-Bar Workshop, we seek to make it an experience you won't forget. At our Build-a-Bar Workshop, you learn the history of chocolate and our process to turn cacao beans into bars. And you design two custom-made bars using dozens of ingredients. We also offer event workshops and chocolate school, where you can become a certified chocolate maker. Come in for a few minutes to sample chocolate and tea, or stay for longer. The chocolate tour and tasting is a three-hour guided educational adventure where you learn all about the cacao tree and see how chocolate is made from the cacao fruit (cacao pods). Learn about permaculture, sustainable farming, and exotic fruits on this delectable chocolate tour. During the tour, we sit down to an EXTENSIVE chocolate tasting (20 types of chocolates), all Hawaiian grown and made. We keep the percentages of cacao high (85%) to ensure the health benefits. If you like dark chocolate, you will love this tour. We also make a hot chocolate in the traditional Latin American style with fresh ground chocolate liquor, fresh whole vanilla pods, fresh ground allspice, fresh coconut meat and coconut milk, and local honey
