Doris Place is a charming mom-and-pop store that's been a beloved fixture in Kona, Hawaii since 1948. Located in the heart of Holualoa on Hawaii island, this family-owned and operated store has been serving the local community and visitors for generations. The store is housed in a rustic, plantation-style building that exudes the traditional Hawaiian charm. The exterior is adorned with white paint, green colored metal roofing and a sign that proudly displays Doris Place in red lettering. The store's front porch welcomes you in. Located in the Chinatown Gateway Plaza building at 1041 Nuʻuanu Ave., Second Floor, the nonprofit Downtown Art Center is an exhibition gallery and educational space for Oʻahu's arts scene. DAC is a thriving center for the arts, providing display space to showcase local artists and art organizations, a classroom for arts instruction, and more. DAC is dedicated to the revitalization of Downtown/Chinatown Honolulu through culture and the arts. Paid parking for DAC is located at nearby municipal parking lots (onsite at Chinatown Gateway Plaza, parking entrance to the left off Bethel Street) or at Pickles at Forte (parking entrance to the right off Bethel Street . DAC is easily accessible by public transit as well.
